Bring Hip Hop to your Table Top with this awesome game! Rap Godz gives you the opportunity to become an up and coming hip-hop artist looking to get the label of RAP GOD! RAP GODZ is a game created by Board Game Brothas and is a mix of card drafting, dice rolling, role playing and story telling strategy, as you play cards that represent events in your emcee's career and life. Make it big by getting endorsed by the president, getting your track in a movie, and/or have your music make it world wide! OR, you get have beef with another rapper and have some baby momma drama, tax evasion, or just being plain broke. Either way, make to the end to be the worlds best emcee and the one who wins, has to share their story!
GAMEPLAY
Setup
Each player is dealt a Rapperz and Citiez card and also place Pick Upz. Players select Rapperz and Citiez, then place Rap Resource Cubes. Then you place Goalz, Citiez, and Come Upz on the board. Lastly you deal out the Album cards to each player.
Turns & Beef
On your turn, you draw an Album Card or buy Come Upz card, or you can play a card (and use optional Rapper Abilities),. You could also Collect plaques and Rap Resources or resolve beef. Once two players engage in the beef. The player that started the beef gets to roll 2 dice (red and player color dice) and the other player rolls their color die. The winner of the beef has the highest number showing on a single die. The loser takes beef card and gives the winner the plaques and resources. The winner collects a beef cube.
Phases
At the end of everyone's turn, the next set of turns activate the next "Track" after 5 tracks have gone by, the next phase is transitions into the next Album. After 3 Albums that game is over. you then go through and add up all of your end game goals. Winners of Citiez collect token and plaques. Winners of Goalz collect token and plaques. If you successfully complete your Rapper Goalz and Category Bonus, you collect token and plaques. the winner of the game is the one with most plaques.
EXPERIENCE
I played this game with two of my brothers and we fully enjoyed! We played 2 games in total and the first game was a learning curve (that I won... Lol!) And the second game, I was jumped by both of my colleagues, loosing all of the beef that was thrown at me. It was too much fun as well! My favorite part of the game was the role-play and story telling. Coming up with different scenarios when playing cards. Having different goals makes it extremely hilarious as the cards can get really random with their different actions. I think we took more time laughing at each others stories rather than trying to strategically win the game.
OVERALL GAME SCORE 9 OUT OF 10
The game play and theme has a full 10 for me! The only thing I wish they could've done a little less of is the artwork. I understand having the graffiti theme throughout the entire game to give the emphasis of the concept but the color selection was a little too much going on. At first I had to adjust my eyes to understand whats going on through the box and at first glance some of the words were hard to read. Outside of that, this game was AMAZING!!!!

This game is a great way to start a transition into modern board gaming from party games. It's very easy to learn, very minimal analysis paralysis, story telling takes this game to a whole other level! This game is a great time and I can't wait until I am able to bring it back out on the table with my friends!
